About Hectic Films

Hectic Films, established in 2005 by childhood friends Rickey Bird and Jason Sanders (both 27 years old), has gone from being a YouTube-only guerrilla-style film production company to having worked over five feature-length indie films (All currently in post-production).

The Lackey (2010) was produced by Hectic Films, while Phase Two (2010) was written and produced by Hectic Films. Home Free The Movie (2010) was filmed in three days by Hectic Films with a budget of under a thousand dollars. Actual homeless people played parts in the film. "It's The Office but with homeless people," Bird says about the film that was mostly improvised by about twenty actors.

Hectic Films has worked with actors such as Hulk Hogan and Tony Todd, as well as Shaun Piccinino (director of The Deadliest Warrior on Spike TV). A hand-selected partner of YouTube, their Busted In Undies short has garnered over 500,000 views. Hectic Films has almost gotten arrested about six-eight times for their shot stealing techniques and guerrilla filmmaking antics in the Bakersfield California area. They truely define their name; Hectic.
