SHOW CASING ZOMBIE PAINTINGS BY THE BASEMENT

By David Karnowski
Bakersfield-based independent media group Hectic Films is branching out beyond web comedy and feature films into the world of live-interaction theatre. This coming Saturday, The Intimate Theatre will host Hectic Films Cinema House, a horror movie screening that incorporates live actors, animatronic props and Hollywood-class effects.
"We want to gain an audience for our films and show the public what we do by using these unusual events," said Rickey Bird, the owner of Hectic Films. "You are going to be sacred. No matter how old you are and how much you don't think you will be scared, we will get you."
Playing on the mainstream popularity of zombie craze, the local group holds a secret weapon in delivering a horrifically entertaining experience; Hollywood talent.
Hectic Films in-house makeup artist Nick Reisinger is a professionally trained special effects master who has spent five years working in Hollywood and in other Southern-California film productions.
"We'll be using cable-controlled animatronics, blood splatter effects, compressed air rigs and cinema-quality prosthetic makeup for our actors," said Reisinger.
According to Bird, the shows offer a full two hours of entertainment and are meant to thrill the audience the entire time.
"You won't find an experience like this anywhere else in Bakersfield on a Saturday night and all for less then the cost of a regular movie ticket."
